Anantnag, May, 07: A run for fun event was organised under the aegis of 19 RR in Dailgam for the Youth.
80 Youths of 15-25 age were participated in the event with full zeal , vigour and enthusiasm.
The run commenced from Iqbal Colony Dailgam was flagged off by leuitant Colonel 19 RR RP Singh and culminated at Palpora Playground covering a total distance of 3 km. Army Jawans including Dailgam COB Sobedar Sarwan Singh traversed the distance along with the other participants to provide moral support and encouragement.
Winners including young girls were awarded with and attractive prizes and momento given to top 10 runner in a grand presentation ceremony by Colonel Manpreet Singh. which was attended by number of civil dignitaries and locals.
The event was organised with an aim to engage and channelise the youth in positive direction so that they focus towards creating a better future and conducive environment for peace and prosperity in the valley.Colonel 19 RR Sikhli Manpreet singh added
The event received wide support and appreciation from local populace. People from all walks of life supported the participants throughout the route and expressed their gratitude for organising such an event which provided hope for the young generation to explore their hidden potential. The general public also requested for more such opportunities for the young generation.
