Srinagar, May 12: Even after the lapse of about three years since seven assistant registrar posts were advertised by Kashmir University, authorities at the varsity are yet to complete the selection process.
Candidates told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that due to unknown reasons, the authorities at the varsity are resorting to dilly dally tactics due to which there are apprehensions among the candidates that are taking time in the process just to give undue benefit to their candidates.
The University advertised seven positions of assistant registrar/assistant controller of examination on October 24, 2019 and after around two years a notification was issued on 13-08-2021 informing about conducting of preliminary examination, said a candidate.
He said that the preliminary examination was conducted in the last week of October 2021 and in the first week of December a provisional merit list was published.
Aspirants said that soon after the merit list was issued, the main examination was scheduled to be held in the first week of March this year.
They added that as per the varsity statutes, the posts should have been filled within two years after advertisement but that didn’t happen.
They requested authorities especially LG Manoj Sinha to look into the matter if the posts are filled in a transparent manner.
Meanwhile, an official of KU said the process of selection got delayed due to Covid pandemic and later inclement weather and it will be completed at the earliest.
He said that evaluation process is going on and they are trying to declare results in next two weeks—(KNO)
