Jammu, Aug 07: One terrorist was killed after Army and police foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Degwar sector of Poonch district early this morning..
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), exchange of fire took place between terrorists and army officials along the LoC and additional forces were rushed to the area.
A search operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police is underway in Poonch after suspicious movement was observed at LoC.
As per initial reports, Security forces have foiled an infiltration bid early this morning in Degwar sector of Poonch District police said
Army said during intervening night of 06 and 07 August an infiltration bid foiled was noticed in Degwar sector near Khokri Post. Army said aleart troops noticed that suspicious movement near LC, where 2 to 3 infiltrators tried to cross the border. Army immediately launched operation near the post and chased intruders resulting in exchange of fire in which a terrorist was neutralized by security forces while the other was injured.
Vinay Sharma, SSP Poonch confirmed that infiltration bid has been foiled in Degwar sector of Poonch in which contact was established and an intruder shot dead while searches were in progress to sanitize the area—(KNO)
