Kulgam, May 17: Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Kulgam police under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam have arrested one person and seized one vehicle involved in the commission of crime.
A Police party of Police Station Devsar during patrolling at Peerpora crossing intercepted a vehicle (Tractor) bearing Chassis number MBNBE52AHMCK25264 loaded with illegally extracted minerals. The accused driver identified as Waseem Iqbal Dar son of Mohd Iqbal Dar resident of Ashmuji Khalsa, Kulgam was arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Devsar and investigation set into motion.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
