Pattan, July, 15: The residents of Singhpora Pattan in North Kashmir staged a protest against the medical department, highlighting severe issues at the Subsidiary Health Centre (SHC). The community, including women and children, voiced their frustration over the consistent lack of timely medical attention due to staff negligence.
Protestors gathered outside the SHC, emphasizing that the medical staff often report to work late in the morning, leaving patients in distress. The lack of punctuality and responsibility from the healthcare providers has led to prolonged waiting times, causing significant inconvenience and health risks to the residents.
“We come here with our sick children and elderly family members, but the staff is never on time. We wait for hours, and this has been happening routinely,” said one of the protestors. The community members demanded immediate action against the negligent staff to ensure better healthcare services.
In response to the escalating situation, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Pattan assured the protestors that swift action would be taken. “We understand the concerns of the residents of Singhpora Pattan. I assure you that we will address the issue promptly and ensure that the staff adheres to their schedules,” stated the BMO.
The protest highlighted the pressing need for improved healthcare facilities and accountability within the medical department to cater to the needs of the Singhpora Pattan residents effectively.
