Open Trials Held to Promote Football in Kashmir

Pattan, J&K, July 18, 2024 – An open trial was conducted today, chaired by Mr. Wasim Aslam, Sports Promoter of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The event saw participation from several key figures in the football community, including Mr. Naseemul Gani and Mr. Bilal Ahmad, both members of the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA), and Mr. Gulzar Sahab, President of the District Football Association (DFA) Zone Pattan. Additionally, Mr. Imtiyazul Haq, General Secretary of Kashmir Panthers Football Club, was present.

Qazigund traders protest continued closure of twin crossings to Upper Bazar

The trials aimed to identify and select talented football players from the valley to further promote the sport. A significant number of players from North Kashmir and beyond the UT of J&K participated in the trials.

Kashmir Panthers Football Club, which has been active in the valley for the past 3-4 years, has been participating in major tournaments both within and outside the UT of J&K. The club’s efforts to nurture and showcase local talent were evident in today’s trials.
