KULGAM, AUGUST 17: In preparation for smooth conduct of Assembly Elections in the district, the District Election Office Kulgam today conducted a comprehensive training session for Returning Officers and Nodal Officers at Mini-secretariat, here.
The training session was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner/District Election Officer (DEO) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
The session aimed to equip these officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure a smooth and efficient electoral process.
During the session, nodal officers were briefed on various aspects of election management, including voter registration, polling station management and counting procedures, implementation of MCC etc.
They were also briefed on the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voter-verifiable paper audit trails (VVPATs).
A detailed discussion on receiving nomination, scrutiny, and rejections was also held.
The training session was attended by District nodal officers from across the district, who engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on exercises to reinforce their understanding of the electoral process.
The DEO also exhorted the officers to work with dedication and zeal, ensuring that the upcoming Assembly Elections in the district are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
He emphasized that their collective efforts would be crucial in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and upholding the trust of the electorate.
ADDC, ADC, ROs of all three Assembly Constituencies, Dy DEO and all Nodal Officers attended the training session.
