Budgam, September 7: Ghulam Mohammad Dar, a dedicated teacher at Government Middle School (GMS) Battapora, Magam, district Budgam, has been honoured with the prestigious Best Teacher Award by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in recognition of his outstanding contribution, commitment, dedication and valuable services in the field of education.
The award was presented to him by Minister for Education Sakina Itoo on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. On the occasion, Ghulam Mohammad Dar’s sincere efforts towards promoting education, supporting the academic and social development of students, and contributing to their overall personality development were appreciated.
Following the achievement, students and staff accorded a warm and enthusiastic welcome to Ghulam Mohammad Dar during a special function held at Government Middle School Battapora. The students expressed happiness and pride over their teacher’s achievement, saying that he has consistently played an important role in providing quality education, guidance and encouragement to students.
Speaking on the occasion, a student described Ghulam Mohammad Dar not only as a sincere and hardworking teacher but also as a true source of inspiration for students. The student said that his simple, friendly and encouraging approach helps students understand their lessons better and motivates them to work hard to achieve their goals.
“We are very happy and proud that our teacher has received the Best Teacher Award. He always helps and encourages us in our studies and guides us whenever we face difficulties. This award is a matter of pride for all of us,” the student said.
Renowned educationist Javid Ahmad Bandi also congratulated Ghulam Mohammad Dar on receiving the prestigious honour and appreciated his hard work, dedication and commitment to the teaching profession. He said teaching is not merely about transferring academic knowledge, but teachers also play a vital role in shaping students into responsible, principled, compassionate and well-mannered individuals.
Speaking to the media during the function held at the school, Ghulam Mohammad Dar expressed gratitude for the honour and said that the recognition would encourage him to work with greater dedication and commitment for the welfare and educational development of students.
“I have taught countless children during my career, and many of them are today holding important positions. Whenever I meet my former students or speak to them over the phone, I see my own success in their achievements,” Ghulam Mohammad Dar said.
