Kupwara, September 19: Tshewang Gyachho Bhutia, General Observer 4-Lolab AC today paid a visit to the Strong Room and Counting Hall at Degree College Kupwara today. His visit was aimed at reviewing the security and preparations in place ahead of the upcoming election counting process. He inspected the arrangements in detail, ensuring that all protocols were being strictly adhered to in order to maintain transparency and fairness throughout the procedure.
During his inspection at the Degree College, the General Observer interacted with the officials present and emphasized the importance of upholding the integrity of the electoral process. He appreciated the efforts of the security personnel and election staff in maintaining a secure and organized environment for the storage of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and related materials.
Following his visit to the Strong Room and Counting Hall, the General Observer proceeded to Lolab where he convened a meeting with the contesting candidates and their representatives/agents.
During the meeting, he stressed the importance of peaceful participation and cooperation from all sides to ensure a smooth counting process. He also assured that the election will be held in line with the guidelines of Election Commission of India and no violation shall be allowed, and encouraged them to maintain their confidence in the system.
The candidates and their agents expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for the election process and assured to extend their full cooperation. The meeting concluded on a positive note with the General Observer reiterating the Election Commission’s commitment to conducting free, fair and transparent elections.
