Kulgam, Oct, 05; The Drug De-addiction Centre in Kulgam organized a Community-based Based Peer-Led Intervention (CPLI) awareness program today, under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The initiative aims to educate the community, particularly school-going children, about the harmful impacts of drug abuse.
Supervisor Ms. Nahida emphasized the importance of spreading awareness, stating, “Our goal is to equip young people with the knowledge they need to make informed choices and understand the serious consequences of drug use.” The program included interactive sessions and discussions designed to engage participants and foster a supportive environment for sharing experiences.
Local educators and health professionals participated in the event, reinforcing the message of prevention and healthy lifestyle choices. The committee plans to continue these efforts, aiming to reach more communities across the region.
