Kulgam, November 09: Kulgam police while continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society. Kulgam police arrested 01 drug peddler and recovered contraband/Psychotropic substance from his possession.
A specific checkpoint( Naka) at Chawalgam Sangus Bypass was established by the Police Party of police Station Kulgam and during checking one person after noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot. However he was chased and apprehended tactfully. After searching, 14 Grams of Brown sugar like contraband substances were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Aqib Bashir Lone son of Bashir Ahmad Loan resident of Vesbatpora.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 164/2024 under section 8/21 NDPS act has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
