Kulgam, 9th December 2024: In a significant move to ensure road safety and enforce traffic laws, the Traffic Police Kulgam conducted a special drive in the main town of Kulgam. The operation, carried out under the direction of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic, Mohammad Aslam Choudhury, and led by DTI Traffic Lalit Sharma, aimed at curbing traffic violations and promoting better road discipline in the area.

During the drive, several vehicles, including bikes and cars, were challaned for violating various traffic regulations. The primary focus of the initiative was to reduce accidents and improve overall safety standards on the roads. Speaking to the media, DTI Lalit Sharma urged students and the general public to prioritize their safety by wearing helmets and ensuring they carry all necessary documents while driving.

DTI Sharma also addressed the alarming issue of underage driving, advising residents not to hand over vehicles to minors, highlighting the dangers associated with such irresponsible behavior.

The initiative has garnered positive feedback from the local community, many of whom expressed their appreciation for the drive. “These drives are crucial for disciplining drivers and minimizing accidents. We hope the Traffic Police continue these efforts to ensure safer roads,” said one local resident.

The Traffic Police Kulgam reaffirmed its commitment to road safety and vowed to continue such initiatives to improve traffic discipline and reduce violations across the region.
