“Getting the right feedback within the system of government becomes difficult sometimes,” Abdullah stated. “But when a civil society meeting is held like this, usually people come here without any agenda and give their feedback, their suggestions, which then benefit us. So this was the purpose of this meeting, to sit together with the members of the civil society and take feedback from them.”

The meeting aimed to foster dialogue between the government and the public, with the Chief Minister expressing hope that such initiatives would strengthen governance through public participation.

On the controversial issue of the Darbar move, Abdullah expressed his commitment to restoring the historic practice, which involves the biannual relocation of the capital between Jammu and Srinagar.

“I don’t understand why this issue did not come up in the elections. The issue of Darbar move started to emerge only after the elections,” he remarked. “But we have assured repeatedly in meetings that Darbar move will be restored. Jammu has its own importance, Jammu has its own speciality, and we will not let it diminish.” (KNS)
