Kulgam, Dec 18: In a significant crackdown on illegal cattle smuggling, Kulgam Police rescued 77 bovines and seized two vehicles involved in the inhumane transportation of cattle. Unfortunately, four of the animals were found dead due to the harsh conditions endured during their journey.
Acting on a tip-off, the operation was launched under the directions of SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal, and carried out under the supervision of Subzar Ahmad, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kulgam. A checkpoint was set up at Chambigund Bridge, where police intercepted two trucks.
