Baramulla, Jan 4: A casual employee of the Mechanical Department Gulmarg, lost his life on Thursday while inflating a tire. The fatal accident occurred at a private shop in Tangmarg in Norht Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Eyewitnesses told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that Manzoor Ahmad was filling air into the tire of a departmental vehicle when the tire burst unexpectedly. “The inner ring of the tire dislodged with force and struck Manzoor on the head, causing fatal injuries.
He died on the spot before any medical help could reach him,” they said.
The body was subsequently taken to the Sub-District Hospital in Tangmarg, where a post-mortem examination was conducted as part of the legal formalities.
The Executive Engineer of the Mechanical Department, along with other senior officers, visited the hospital to express condolences and provide assurances to the grieving family.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss. The department will do everything in its power to support the family in this difficult time,” the Executive Engineer stated. [KNT]
