KULGAM: In a commendable effort to enhance healthcare accessibility in remote regions, the 18th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a free medical camp at the Government High School in Nillow, Kulgam. The event, part of the CRPF’s Civic Action Program, provided essential medical services to the local population and successfully served over 400 patients.
Under the leadership of Commanding Officer (CO) Jitender Mohan and the supervision of Second-in-Command (2IC) Choudhary Mehesh, the camp brought together CRPF medical officers and local healthcare professionals. They offered free consultations, medical check-ups, and distributed essential medicines to attendees, many of whom had limited access to healthcare facilities in the area.
The camp was officially inaugurated by Dr. Ab Rehman Rather, the District Ayush Nodal Officer, who attended the event as the chief guest. His presence underscored the importance of such initiatives for the well-being of the community.
Residents, especially from far-flung areas, expressed their gratitude for the timely and much-needed healthcare services. Many remarked that the camp was a lifeline, addressing their healthcare needs in an area often underserved by district hospitals. The initiative was hailed as a vital step toward improving health outcomes and enhancing access to medical care in the region.
During his address, 2IC Choudhary Mehesh reassured the public of the CRPF’s commitment to their welfare. “We have already established Madadgaar services for the residents of Kulgam,” he said. “We are here 24/7 to assist and support the local community.” His words resonated with the gathering, highlighting the CRPF’s ongoing efforts to foster a strong bond with the people.
CO Jitender Mohan, speaking to the media, emphasized that the CRPF would continue organizing such medical camps across Kulgam. “We are dedicated to bringing healthcare to the underserved areas and ensuring that people in need receive the medical attention they deserve,” he said.
The success of this medical camp has generated a sense of optimism among the local residents, who are hopeful that similar initiatives will continue to improve healthcare services in Kulgam’s remote regions. This Civic Action Program is a crucial step towards bridging the healthcare gap and promoting the overall well-being of the community.
