Additionally he said that meters have been made mandatory for all other auto-rickshaws.

Commissioner while talking to reporters here in Srinagar as per news agency KINS warned that strict action would be taken against drivers overcharging passengers or operating without proper permits.

Highlighting the importance of road safety, the Commissioner stressed that drivers play a critical role in preventing accidents. “Road safety is the primary responsibility of the driver,” he said, urging drivers to avoid violations like speeding and not wearing helmets.

On the issue of driving licenses, he acknowledged delays in issuance but assured that a new tender for license printing is nearly complete, and licenses will soon be delivered by post. Meanwhile, drivers were encouraged to use the Digilocker app for digital access to their licenses.

The Commissioner also urged citizens to follow designated routes, emphasizing that measures are in place to ensure public safety.(KINS)
