Srinagar, Feb, 17: In a remarkable initiative aimed at improving healthcare access in remote areas, the 18th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully organized a free medical camp in Tulinowpora Kulgam. The camp, held under the CRPF’s Civic Action Program, provided vital medical services to over 500 patients from the region.
The event was led by Commanding Officer (CO) Jitender Mohan, with the supervision of Second-in-Command (2IC) Choudhary Mahesh. The camp saw the collaboration of CRPF medical officers and local healthcare professionals, who offered free consultations, medical check-ups, and distributed essential medicines. Many of the attendees, particularly from remote areas, had limited access to regular healthcare services, making the camp a crucial lifeline.
Gowhar Ahmad BMO Qaimoh inaugurated the camp as the chief guest.Their presence highlighted the significance of such initiatives for community well-being. Local residents expressed deep gratitude, recognizing the camp as a much-needed service in an area where healthcare facilities are often scarce.
2IC Choudhary Mahesh, addressing the gathering, reiterated the CRPF’s commitment to community welfare. “We have already established Madadgaar services for Kulgam’s residents,” he stated. “We are here 24/7 to assist and support the local community.”
In his address to the media, CO Jitender Mohan stressed the CRPF’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare in the region, confirming that similar medical camps would be organized in the future. “Our goal is to provide healthcare to underserved areas and ensure that people receive the medical care they need,” he said.
The camp’s success has generated optimism among the residents, who are hopeful that continued initiatives will bridge healthcare gaps in the remote regions of Kulgam. The Civic Action Program, through such initiatives, is playing a pivotal role in enhancing the health and well-being of the community.
