Baramulla, Mar 4: Authorities have imposed traffic restrictions on the Tangmarg-Gulmarg road due to slippery conditions, barring tempo travelers, public service vehicles (PSVs), and all vehicles with a seating capacity of more than 10 passengers from proceeding beyond Kunzar, officials said on Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Paul Singh, issued an advisory urging vehicle operators to adhere to the new restrictions to ensure passenger safety. As per the directive, such vehicles must deboard passengers at the designated parking area in Kunzar.
“Passengers will be permitted to continue their journey to Gulmarg only in light motor vehicles equipped with anti-skid chains to navigate the treacherous road conditions.”
Authorities have urged travelers and transporters to comply with the advisory to prevent mishaps and ensure smooth traffic flow on the popular tourist route. [KNT]
