Kulgam, April 19, 2025: Dr. Shawkat Hussain Parray, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam, conducted an extensive visit to the under-construction Sub-District Hospital (SDH) building at DH Pora today to review the progress of ongoing works and assess preparations for the upcoming inauguration.
During the inspection, it was noted that nearly 90% of the construction work has been completed. Dr. Hussain directed the executing agency to expedite the remaining work and ensure its completion within the next 10–15 days. He emphasized the importance of meeting the deadline to facilitate the timely inauguration of the facility.
Highlighting the critical need for uninterrupted power supply, the CMO also instructed concerned officials to ensure round-the-clock hot line electricity connectivity ahead of the hospital’s operationalization.
Later, Dr. Hussain visited the existing SDH DH Pora to evaluate the current status of patient care services, including the availability of essential medicines, manpower, and infrastructure. He interacted with both the hospital staff and patients, and issued directions to further strengthen healthcare services until the new facility becomes fully functional.
The CMO was accompanied by Block Medical Officer DH Pora, the Statistical Officer (Planning), and the Assistant Accounts Officer from the CMO Office during the visit.
