According to details accessed by news agency JKNS, representatives from major political parties participated, including the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National Conference (NC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Peoples Conference (PC), Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Awami National Conference (ANC), Apni Party, and others.

In a joint statement issued after the meeting, participants expressed deep shock and anguish over the April 22 attack on civilians in Pahalgam and adopted the resolution.

Resolution which reads, “The participants of the All-Party Meeting unequivocally condemn the heinous and inhumane attack that killed innocent civilians in Pahalgam. Such acts have no place in society and represent a direct assault on the values of Kashmiriyat and the unity of India.

All efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice are fully supported. No act of terror can weaken our collective resolve or break our spirit. The Union Government’s steps announced yesterday are endorsed.

Deepest condolences are extended to the bereaved families. The supreme sacrifice of Shaheed Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who died while trying to protect tourists, is saluted. His bravery reflects the true spirit of Kashmiriyat and hospitality.

Citizens across Jammu and Kashmir are commended for their solidarity, peaceful demonstrations, and support to tourists. Such responses reaffirm the region’s commitment to peace, communal harmony, and constitutional values.

A strong appeal is made to all State and Union Territory governments to ensure the safety and dignity of Kashmiri students and citizens outside J&K, and protect them from any form of harassment, discrimination, or violence.

Political parties, community leaders, religious institutions, civil society, youth groups, and media across India are urged to maintain calm, resist provocations, and contribute to peace and development.”

On April 22, 2025, terrorists attacked tourists in Pahalgam in the Baisaran Valley of Anantnag district, when terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on a group of tourists. The attack led to the death of 28 civilians and injuries to over 20 others. The attackers, reportedly in military-style outfits, ambushed tourists in a premeditated strike, triggering panic and chaos in the otherwise peaceful tourist spot.

Among the victims was Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a local horseman, who displayed exceptional courage by confronting the terrorists in an attempt to save tourists. He was martyred in the process, and his bravery has been widely acknowledged across the region as a symbol of Kashmiriyat and hospitality.

Following the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the act in strong terms and said the nation stands united against terrorism. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level security review and assured full support to the Jammu and Kashmir administration. He also reached out to political leaders and called for unity against such acts of terror.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the families of victims and called the attack a cowardly assault on humanity. The government declared compensation for the affected families and ordered a thorough investigation into the security lapses.

In the aftermath of the attack, protests and peace marches were held across Jammu and Kashmir to denounce terrorism. People from different communities joined in to show solidarity with the victims, while appeals for calm were made to prevent communal tensions. Security across the Union Territory has been heightened, with additional deployment in sensitive areas. (JKNS)
