Pattan, April 29: As the work of 4-laning is going on the national highway Narbal to Baramulla, the commuters are facing huge difficulties while moving on the national highway.
While the work was carried away during the night hours at Singhpora market, a deep hole was seen in the morning right in the middle of the road. A vehicle had collapsed in the hole as there was no signage near the sunk hole.
The driver of the loaded vehicle claimed that he could not identify the hole as there was no signage. The locals came to help and rescue him.
Huge jam was seen due to the hole and nuisance was caused because of the unprofessional execution of the work.
Soon after this , Mirgund Police reached on the spot and helped out in restoration of the traffic movement .
The drivers claimed that JCC Company seems to be in deep slumber as it is against the NHAI guidelines to not provide the commuters with any alternative qhile is work is carried on.
As per the drivers , they claim to face huge loses and depreciation in their vehicles due to the huge wear and tear everywhere on the road.
Students claimed to have discolour their white uniforms into dark one while moving on to the road.
While speaking to SDM Pattan, Gulzar Ahmad he assured to take up the matter with the concerned contractor and the higher authorities and enquire why the work is being carried out in an unprofessional manner.
