Singhpora, Aug 15: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Doon International School, Bhat Colony, Singhpora Pattan.
The celebrations began with the unfurling of the national flag by the Principal of the school, who led the ceremony in the presence of staff, students, and parents. The national anthem echoed through the campus, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity.
Several Students give only speeches, paying tribute to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. However, cultural programmes across Jammu and Kashmir were canceled following the distressing news of flash floods triggered by a cloudburst in Kishtwar yesterday, in which at least 58 bodies have been recovered so far.
The Principal, in his address, highlighted the significance of the day and encouraged students to uphold the values of freedom, responsibility, and nation-building.
