Kargil, August 19, 2025: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS) today chaired a preparatory meeting in his office chamber to review the arrangements for the upcoming LG Horse Polo Cup 5th Edition 2025, scheduled to be held from 24th to 28th in Kargil.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Planning, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, DYSP Kargil, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kargil, District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil, Executive Engineers of PHE and Mechanical Division, Assistant Director Information, Principal GDC Kargil, representative of Hr. Sec School Drass and Deputy Secretary Culture; besides CAHO, joined the meeting virtually.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the preparedness and requirements for smooth conduct of the horse polo event. DYSSO Kargil, Abid Ali apprised the chair about various arrangements in connection with the event, following which the DC issued instructions to the concerned departments for time-bound action.
He directed the officers to follow past practices while strictly utilising government assets for the event. The DC assessed arrangements related to power supply, security, police deployment, cultural programmes, PAS system, publicity through print and electronic media, decoration, sanitation, mobile toilets, rollers and water tankers at the venue.
Further, he instructed the DYSSO to coordinate with NHPC and Power Grid for accommodation and water tankers and liaise with concerned department for accommodation of participants and officials. Emphasis was also laid on ensuring cultural performances during the opening and closing ceremonies, for which the DC directed the Deputy Secretary Culture to make necessary arrangements.
The DC exhorted all line departments to work in close coordination for the successful conduct of the LG Horse Polo Cup 5th Edition 2025.
