New Delhi, Aug 27: Bharti Airtel has announced a series of emergency support measures for customers in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh, where telecom services have been severely affected due to ongoing extreme weather and heavy rainfall.

The spokesperson, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that continuous rain and challenging weather conditions have disrupted connectivity across these regions, making it difficult for users to access essential communication services.

To support affected customers, Airtel has extended relief in the form of temporary service benefits.

Prepaid users whose plans are expiring this week will receive an automatic three-day extension that includes unlimited voice calls and 1GB of data per day, even if they are unable to recharge.

This initiative is aimed at ensuring that users remain connected despite local disruptions.

Postpaid and broadband customers will also benefit from a three-day grace period on their bill payments. This step is intended to provide customers with uninterrupted service during this period, allowing them time to manage payments once the situation stabilizes, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, Airtel has enabled Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) in Jammu, Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. This will allow customers to access other available networks in the region, helping to maintain connectivity where Airtel’s own network may be temporarily impacted.

The company has deployed teams on the ground who are working to restore full network services at the earliest.

In its statement, Airtel reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its customers and ensuring they stay connected during difficult times.

“Airtel stands with the people of these regions and remains committed to keeping them connected,” said an Airtel spokesperson.

The company also urged customers to stay informed through its official communication channels for further updates.

Notably, a massive communication blackout has paralyzed daily life across Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
