Kupwara, Aug 21: In a move aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring accountability, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara, Dr. Masrat Iqbal Wani, paid a surprise night visit to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara.
Dr. Wani was accompanied by Deputy CMO, District Health Officer (DHO), and Medical Superintendent SDH Kupwara during the inspection. The team took stock of patient care facilities, availability of staff on night duty, sanitation measures, and the overall functioning of the hospital.
During the visit, the CMO interacted with patients and attendants to get firsthand feedback about healthcare services and directed the hospital staff to maintain punctuality, discipline, and a patient-friendly approach. He also emphasized the need for cleanliness in and around the hospital premises and reiterated that any negligence in duty would not be tolerated.
The visit reflects the health administration’s commitment to ensuring round-the-clock quality healthcare in the district and to improving public confidence in government health institutions.
