In her address, Mrs. Pradhan lauded AWWA’s role as a pillar of support for the ex-servicemen fraternity and their families. She stressed the importance of women’s empowerment through education, skill development and self-reliance, while also underlining the need to instil values and character in children of this strategically important border region. Drawing upon her own experiences of growing up in Kashmir, she urged young women to seize new opportunities made possible through improved infrastructure, better communication and the wide range of Sadbhavna initiatives undertaken by the Indian Army.

She also cautioned against the menace of drug abuse and the unchecked influence of social media on impressionable youth, calling on families to guide children towards constructive pursuits. Highlighting the initiatives of Shakti Vijay Brigade, she shared how the formation has remained committed to the welfare of veterans and their families, while focusing on job opportunities and vocational training for women and children.

The event concluded with tea and refreshments, where families and veterans interacted in a spirit of camaraderie. The unprecedented turnout made the occasion a landmark in Karnah, symbolising the deep bond of trust, care and partnership between the Army and the Veteran Freaternity.
