New Delhi, Aug 26: In recognition of his outstanding contributions to peacebuilding, social empowerment, and youth engagement, noted social and peace activist Mudasir Dar has been conferred with the 15th Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Award (2025) as well as the International Buddha Peace Award (2025).
The prestigious awards were presented by Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, and Shri Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, at a distinguished ceremony attended by eminent personalities, policymakers, and civil society leaders.
Mudasir Dar, known for his tireless grassroots work in Jammu and Kashmir, has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at countering radicalization, fostering communal harmony, and empowering youth through education, sports, and cultural engagement. His efforts have helped transform marginalized and conflict-affected communities, channeling the energies of the younger generation toward constructive nation-building.
Speaking About this , Dar expressed his gratitude, dedicating the recognition to “the resilient youth of Jammu and Kashmir, whose courage and determination inspire every step of my journey.” He further emphasized that peace and justice must remain the guiding principles of social transformation, echoing the legacies of both Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Lord Buddha.
These awards stand as a powerful acknowledgment of Dar’s pioneering work in promoting inclusive development, interfaith harmony, and national integration at both regional and international platforms.
