Budgam, Sept 6: Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, a distinguished teacher at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Beerwah, Budgam, has been conferred with the prestigious Best Teacher Award 2025 by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

The award was presented on Teachers’ Day by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha at SKICC Srinagar, in the presence of the Chief Secretary, Secretary School Education, and Director School Education J&K.

Selected among 34 outstanding educators from across the Union Territory, Wani was honoured for his exceptional contribution to school education. His dedication, innovative teaching methods, and commitment to nurturing young minds have earned him recognition at the highest level.

Expressing his gratitude, Wani thanked the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Department of Education for acknowledging his efforts. “This award is not just my achievement but a motivation for all teachers to continue working with passion for the future of our students,” he told the media.

The Education Department Budgam also extended heartfelt congratulations, praising his service and dedication. Locals of Beerwah expressed pride in his recognition, describing it as an honour not just for the school but for the entire district.

Wani’s accomplishment stands as a shining example of educational excellence and will undoubtedly inspire many more teachers across Jammu and Kashmir.

Students of Beerwah also celebrated the achievement. Speaking to media, they highlighted Wani’s role as a mentor who not only guides them academically but also motivates them to excel in co-curricular activities.

His exemplary contribution to education as a teacher and resource person has uplifted academic and co-curricular standards at BHSS Beerwah. Under his guidance, students have actively participated in state-level programmes and competitions, bringing laurels to the institution.

Wani’s hard work, passion, and commitment towards the teaching profession make him a true role model for both educators and students alike.
