Srinagar, September 22: The Department of Information, as part of its ongoing Sewa Parva campaign, organised a day long cultural fest in collaboration with Amar Singh College, Srinagar here today.
Titled as Symphonies of Peace the event brought together eminent dignitaries, cultural personalities, faculty and students to celebrate the ideals of peace, harmony and cultural integration in line with the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and the spirit of Seva Parv.
The event provided a platform to young and budding artists to showcase their hidden talent to the thunderous applause of the audience.
DIPR has been regularly holding such cultural events and aim of holding such events is to enhance cultural and creative spaces available to the student community and youth by  providing them platform to hone their talent.
The festival featured a vibrant blend of cultural performances including music, theatre and traditional Kashmiri art forms which captivated the audience and showcased the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. Among the art forms, Kashmiri Rauf, Punjabi Tappe, Martial art form Gatka, documentaries on Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir, Qawalis and skits were performed much to the delight of the audience.
Noted broadcaster and former Director, AIR, Srinagar, Syed Humayun Qaisar in his keynote address advised the students to identify their hidden talent by utilising the creative spaces. He said creative endeavours help in the personality development of an individual and induce positive thinking among them.
 Prof. (Dr.) Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, Principal Amar Singh College Srinagar, Dr. Ahsanul Haq Chishti,  Deputy Director Information PR Kashmir, Burhan Hussain, Cultural Officer Kashmir and Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, noted Actor and Filmmaker from J&K also spoke on the occasion.
The joint initiative of Information Department and Amar Singh College in organising the event was appreciated by the participants and it underlined the significance of such cultural platforms in promoting peace, brotherhood and cultural vibrancy, spirit of sewa- service among others.
Notably, DIPR J&K is organising a multitude of events as part of the broader Sewa Parv campaign, being celebrated from 17th September till 2nd October 2025.
