Speaking on the occasion as per news agency JKNS, Minister Itoo said, “It gives me great happiness to see that this is one of the best colleges in Srinagar. Anyone who passes by naturally looks towards this institution. However, I noticed that the auditorium is very small. It needs to be expanded so that at least 1000 people can be accommodated for the college programs.”

She further added, “For this bigger auditorium, I will definitely discuss with the respected Principal. If they have some space available, we will identify it and build a well-equipped auditorium with all necessary facilities, where students can carry out their activities. I will also request the Additional Chief Secretary to take up this project with the Principal so that work can begin soon.”

The announcement was welcomed by the staff and students, who expressed hope that the project will boost academic and cultural activities at the historic women’s college. (JKNS)
