Baramulla, October 16: he much-awaited Final Match of the Police Cricket Cup 2025, organized under the Civic Action Programme by District Police Baramulla, was played today at the Kalapahar Ground, Uri, witnessing great enthusiasm and overwhelming public participation.
The event was graced by the Worthy DIG North Kashmir Range Baramulla as the Chief Guest, while SSP Baramulla and the Brigade Commander 12 Infantry Brigade,* attended as Guests of Honour. Several other senior officers, dignitaries, and respectable citizens of the area were also present on the occasion.
The thrilling final was contested between Nambla Stars and Lagama Cricket Club. In a closely fought encounter, Nambla Stars emerged as the champions, clinching the Police Cricket Cup 2025 title by defeating Lagama Cricket Club by five wickets. Lagama Cricket Club posted a total of 167 runs in 20 overs, which was successfully chased down by Nambla Stars in 18.4 overs.
On the sidelines of the sporting event, winners of the Debate Competition held under the Civic Action Programme were also felicitated. The top three participants were awarded cash prizes of ₹20,000, ₹12,000, and ₹8,000, along with mementos for securing the first, second, and third positions respectively. The champion cricket team received a cash award of ₹15,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up team was presented with a cash prize of ₹10,000 and a trophy.
A large gathering of citizens and youth witnessed the vibrant and spirited event, which concluded on a high note with the resounding message —
