Kulgam, Oct 31: In connection with the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Police Station Yaripora organised a Drug Awareness Programme at Public Mission High School Yaripora under the directions of SSP Kulgam, Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary (IPS). The programme aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to live a disciplined and responsible life.

The event was attended by SHO Yaripora, DO Frisal, the Principal of Public Mission School, faculty members, and a large gathering of students.

Speaking on the occasion, SHO Yaripora said that drug addiction is a dangerous social evil that destroys individuals, families, and the very fabric of society. He urged the youth to stay focused on their education, avoid negative influences, and seek guidance whenever they face stress or peer pressure. He also highlighted the importance of parental involvement and community cooperation in preventing substance abuse.

DO Frisal and the Principal also addressed the students, appreciating the initiative of the Kulgam Police in organising such awareness programmes that help students understand real-life challenges and the importance of making the right choices.

The event concluded with a pledge by students to stand united against drug abuse and uphold the values of peace, harmony, and national unity.
