Jammu, Nov 01: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) State President for Jammu and Kashmir Vivek Bali, has welcomed the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s move to submit a proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) seeking an enhancement in the monthly relief assistance for Kashmiri and Jammu migrants.

In a statement issued to the media, Vivek Bali said this decision was long overdue, as the current relief amount no longer meets the basic needs of displaced families struggling with inflation and high living costs. He noted that the community has faced immense hardship for over three decades, and increasing the relief would help ease their daily financial burden. Bali emphasized that the MHA should expedite approval of this proposal to bring much-needed relief to thousands of migrant families who continue to live in uncertainty.

He also appreciated the government’s recent initiative to review pending migrant registration cases, particularly for those facing cancellation. “The government must adopt a humanitarian and sympathetic approach while deciding these cases, ensuring that no genuine migrant family is denied rightful assistance,” he said.

Bali further welcomed the inclusion of compassionate appointments for the next of kin of PM Package employees under the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme, 2022. He described this measure as a sensitive and positive step toward ensuring social and economic security for affected families.

“The SBSP stands firmly with the migrant community and will continue to raise their concerns on every platform. I urge the MHA to approve the relief enhancement without further delay so that displaced families can live with dignity and stability,” Vivek Bali added.
