According to officials, the league was organised with the objective of promoting sportsmanship, discipline and constructive engagement among youth through football. Four teams representing Kupwara, Baramulla, Sharifabad and Awantipora participated in the premier league, displaying skillful play and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

The final match, played at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Bandipora, witnessed an intense contest between BISMA FC (HQ 19 Infantry Division) and DAR FC Kupwara (HQ 28 Infantry Division). BISMA FC emerged as the winner. More than 500 spectators turned up to witness the finale, creating an energetic and vibrant atmosphere at the venue.

Officials said the league also served as an initiative to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and the local population, adding that such platforms encourage youth toward sports and positive community engagement.

“The overwhelming participation reflects Bandipora’s strong sporting culture and growing passion for football across Kashmir,” an official said.
