Pattan: A case of alleged negligence has surfaced at Community Health Centre (CHC) Pattan after a patient claimed he was asked to purchase a Trop-T test kit from a private shop, even though the kit was reportedly available in the hospital.
According to the patient, the lab staff refused to conduct the test and directed him to go outside to arrange the kit. He alleged that other patients may be facing similar problems. The patient’s family also said the kit was in stock at the hospital, yet they were still told to buy it privately, causing distress and delay during a critical moment.
Responding to the allegations, BMO Pattan confirmed that the Trop-T kit was indeed available at the hospital and remained accessible. He clarified that the consignment had arrived during the night, and the lab staff may not have been informed of its arrival, which could have led to the misunderstanding.
The BMO said that an inquiry has been initiated and accountability will be fixed based on the findings.
