Srinagar, Nov 21: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) State President Vivek Bali issued a sharp rebuke to the NC government for what he described as an unreasonable and excessive increase in power tariffs. He said the move reflects a serious failure of governance and places an unfair burden on the people of Jammu and Kashmir already struggling with day-to-day challenges.
Bali said the decision exposes the government’s disregard for public welfare. He noted that families facing rising prices and limited job opportunities expected relief, not another financial blow. According to him, the tariff hike is both insensitive and unjustified, adding that it shows how disconnected the administration has become from the common people.
Accusing the government of inefficiency and misplaced priorities, he said the NC leadership has repeatedly spoken of welfare but delivered little on the ground. He added that households, especially middle-class and low-income families, will feel the impact most. Bali said this situation could have been avoided if the government had planned better, consulted the public, and ensured basic services were managed with accountability. He stressed that citizens deserve responsible decisions, not sudden shocks that add to their hardships.
Bali demanded an immediate rollback of the tariff hike and urged the administration to focus on improving power infrastructure and ensuring a steady supply rather than burdening people with higher bills. He said the decision highlights how far the government has drifted from ground realities and called on it to engage with stakeholders before making changes that affect every household.
He urged the NC government to reverse the move and adopt policies that genuinely support the people instead of adding to their worries.
