Srinagar, Nov 24: The government has decided to announce early winter vacations for kindergarten classes in Kashmir, with officials confirming that November 25 will be the last working day for students at this level. The move comes following internal consultations within the Education Department amid a continued dip in temperatures across the Valley.
Officials told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that the decision was taken after discussions with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir and in response to appeals from parents seeking an early closure for younger children due to the cold weather. They said the requests had increased over the past week as temperatures dropped further.
“The weather conditions have become too cold for kindergarten students, and it was felt appropriate to close the classes earlier than scheduled,” officials said, adding that the step has been taken to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of children.
