Sopore, December 11, Sopore Police today apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking at Shalimar–Samadabad Crossing, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Bus Stand Sopore.
The naka party intercepted a suspicious individual who was subsequently identified as:
Aqib Fayaz, S/O Fayaz Ahmad Shah, R/O New Colony Sopore.
During his personal search, the police recovered heroin-like substance from his possession.
In this regard, FIR No. 273/2025 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been taken up to identify the source and further linkages of the accused.
Sopore Police reiterate their firm commitment to zero tolerance towards drug peddling and urge the public to cooperate in efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society.
