Kulgam, Jan 8:A 19-year-old cricket prodigy, Syed Muntazir of the K.B. Pora area in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, brought immense pride to the nation after delivering a stellar performance in the International Tennis Ball Cricket Series held in Nepal, where India clinched the gold medal.
Hailing from a humble background, Syed Muntazir represented India on the international stage and emerged as one of the standout performers of the tournament. The triangular series featured teams from India, Bangladesh, and host nation Nepal, witnessing keen competition throughout.
Muntazir played a decisive role in India’s title triumph with his match-winning bowling performances, particularly against the host nation Nepal. His disciplined and lethal bowling spells rattled the Nepalese batting lineup, proving crucial in securing victories that ultimately paved the way for India’s gold medal finish.

For his exceptional performances, Syed Muntazir was adjudged Man of the Match during the series and was also named Best Player of the Final, further highlighting his dominance and impact in the tournament.

His achievement was widely celebrated in Kulgam, with locals hailing it as a moment of immense pride for the district and the entire region. They described Muntazir’s journey—from modest beginnings to representing India and winning gold on the international stage—as a true inspiration for aspiring young cricketers.

Cricket enthusiasts and well-wishers expressed hope that with continued support, proper guidance, and greater opportunities, Syed Muntazir will scale new heights and bring more glory to the country in the years ahead.

Meanwhile, Syed Muntazir expressed his gratitude to the district administration and the District Youth Services and Sports Department, Kulgam, for their support and encouragement, which he said played a vital role in his journey and success.
