Bandipora, Apr 22: Mangnipora in Aloosa block has been designated as a Viksit Village, with an estimated outlay of around Rs 1.90 crore proposed for its comprehensive development.
The proposed plan includes development of a playground, establishment of a library, construction of an Anganwadi centre, upgradation of village roads, and other allied works aimed at improving civic amenities and public infrastructure.
MLA Bandipora Nizamuddin Bhat, accompanied by Block Development Officer Aloosa Ulfat Ali and former Vice Chairperson DDC Bandipora, visited the proposed sites and carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the locations identified for execution of the works.
During the visit, the MLA interacted with local residents and took feedback on developmental priorities and public concerns.
He assured that the projects would be implemented in a time-bound and transparent manner, with due emphasis on quality and public participation. Bhat said the inclusion of Mangnipora under the Viksit Village initiative is expected to promote balanced development and improve the overall standard of living in the area.
Meanwhile, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a pledge was administered to the gathering to abstain from substance abuse and work towards making the village and the district drug-free.
The MLA stressed the need for sustained community participation in addressing drug abuse, particularly among youth, and urged residents to extend full support to the administration’s ongoing campaign.
The visit concluded with a commitment from officials and public representatives to ensure timely execution of the proposed works and to take the anti-drug campaign to every household.
