As per an order issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Congress President has approved the proposal for the committee with immediate effect.

Rajya Sabha MP Shaktisinh Gohil has been appointed as convenor of the panel. The other members are Dr. Amar Singh and Rafeek Khan.

“The committee will look into the reported indiscipline and anti-party activities in Jammu and Kashmir,” the press release reads.

The move comes close on the heels of the Congress high command summoning J&K’s top leaders to New Delhi and giving a dressing down to a few of them over infighting and dissent within the party. Once a major player in J&K politics, Congress has been reduced to the fringes of J&K politics—(KNO)
