Srinagar, June 27: Vajr Division under the aegis of Chinar Corps of Indian Army successfully organised “Jashn-E-Kupwara” at Galzoo Cricket Ground, Zangli, on 27 June 2026, showcasing Kashmir’s cultural heritage, communal harmony and collective aspirations. The event served as a vibrant tribute to the Valley’s rich traditions, fostering a spirit of unity, inclusivity and mutual respect among the people.

Bringing together members of the local community, civil administration officials, youth, students and representatives of the Indian Army, the event unfolded as a captivating cultural spectacle that showcased the essence of Kashmiriyat while reinforcing the enduring bonds between the Armed Forces and the people of the Kashmir.

The programme featured an inspiring array of cultural and educational performances. Students of Government Degree College, Kupwara delivered a thought provoking theatrical presentation underscoring the significance of women empowerment and the growing menace of drug abuse in the society. NCC cadets presented an enthralling display that reflected confidence, commitment and dynamism of the Kashmiri youth.

As the evening progressed, the celebrations reached its peak with mesmerising performances by the renowned Sufi ensemble Strings of Kashmir and the spirited Jhankar Band. Their soulful renditions infused the atmosphere with warmth, joy and cultural splendour, leaving the audience spellbound.

A major attraction of the event was the “Know Your Army” exhibition, which offered visitors a rare opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the capabilities and attributes of Indian Army. The display featured an impressive array of military equipment, including artillery systems, communication platforms, drones and infantry weapon systems. The exhibition generated immense enthusiasm, particularly amongst the younger generation, who interacted with soldiers and learned about the technological advancements and operational excellence of the Armed Forces.

The event concluded on a high note, with participants and visitors expressing profound appreciation for an initiative that seamlessly blended culture, social awareness and national integration. Jashn-E-Kupwara stands as a shining testament to the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment towards fostering peace, preserving Kashmir’s rich cultural legacy and promoting inclusive growth and prosperity across the Valley.
