Gunshots heard during search operation in Shopian; CASO underway

Shopian, July 04: Gunshots were heard during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Saidpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening.

A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of the Police and Army launched the operation in Saidpora following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists

He said that during the search operation, a few gunshots were heard, prompting the security forces to further tighten the cordon around the area.
