Srinagar, August 16: More than 150 patients were examined during a free eye screening camp organized by the Chinar Uphar Foundation (NGO) in association with ASG Eye Hospitals at Government High School, Dardpora Satboyian, Kralpora, Kupwara, on Saturday.

The camp was sponsored by Galaxy India – A True Deal and powered by Javid Mir. Organized under the theme “Let’s Care for Our Vision Together”, the initiative aimed to promote preventive eye care & encourage early detection of vision-related problems among people in the local community.

A team of medical professionals conducted eye examinations, vision assessments & consultations for the participants. Patients requiring further evaluation or specialized treatment were provided medical advice & guided regarding necessary follow-up care.

The camp witnessed participation from people across different age groups, with particular emphasis on children, elderly persons & families who may have limited access to specialized healthcare services.

Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Bhat, President of Chinar Uphar Foundation, said the organization remains committed to taking healthcare & humanitarian services to underserved communities across Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasized the need to make essential healthcare services accessible beyond urban centres.

Adv. Saika Rashid, Co-Founder and Vice President of CUF, highlighted the importance of regular eye examinations & timely medical intervention. She said that preventive screening can help identify vision problems at an early stage & contribute significantly towards protecting eyesight & improving quality of life.

The organizers said the initiative demonstrated the importance of collaboration between civil society organizations, healthcare institutions, sponsors, volunteers & local communities in delivering essential services at the grassroots level.

The camp also sought to raise awareness about responsible eye care & the importance of consulting qualified medical professionals whenever vision-related concerns arise. The initiative aligns with the broader objectives of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health & Well-being) by promoting preventive healthcare & improving access to essential health services.

Chinar Uphar Foundation expressed gratitude to ASG Eye Hospitals, Galaxy India – A True Deal, Javid Mir, medical professionals, volunteers, the school administration & local residents for their support in making the camp successful.

The Foundation reiterated its commitment to continuing community-based healthcare, awareness & humanitarian initiatives across J&K.
