Srinagar : In a major anti- drug drive, the police Friday seized a huge haul of narcotics worth neraly six crore rupees in Baramulla town of north kashmir. Four drug peddlers have also been arrested by the police .
According to Roshan kashmir, the police arrested four persons in old town Baramulla as part of its ongoing crackdown on drug mafia and it was on their disclosure that six packets of Cocine like substance were recovered from their possession. Sources said that the consignment seized by the police was worth six crore in the international market. The police later identified the four arrested persons as Bilal Mir S/O Gh. Mohammad Mir R/O Gulnar Park, Rafiq Sofi S/O Mohammad Shaban R/O Syed Karim, Tariq Bhuroo S/O Ab. Rashid Bhuroo R/O Azad Gunj and Shabir Ahmad Mir S/O Habibullah Mir R/O Ahan Ganderbal.
Meanwhile SSP Baramulla Ab. Qayoom told that this was a major cosignment which has been seized and added that case has been lodged in this case.
Meanwhile an FIR vide numberr 160/2020 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act has been registered in Baramulla police station and further investigation has been taken up.
