Covid-19: 108 test positive in J&K, no death reported in last 24 hours

Srinagar, Feb 25: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday reported 108 fresh cases of Covid-19 taking tally of cases in J&K to 126,201 while no death related to covid-19 was reported in the last 24 hours in the UT.

Of the exact number of 126,201 cases, 74,259 are from Kashmir and 51,942 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 108 new cases, 77 belong to Kashmir division while as 31 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,259 including 72,402 recoveries and 1,230 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,942 including 51,024 recoveries and 725 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 820 including 627 from Kashmir division and 193 from Jammu division.

With 59 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 123,426 which is 97.81 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 47 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 31 from Jammu division include 23 from Jammu, 08 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 26,900 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,099 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,237 including 175 deaths and 7,986 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,876 including 7,715 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Budgam, 5,849 including 5,718 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,681 including 96 deaths and 5,575 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,005 including 4,875 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,714 cases including 4,635 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,667 including 4,599 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,727 including 2,656 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,603 including 2,540 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,194 including 24,716 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,301 including 4,186 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,818 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,437 including 3,372 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,258 including 3,203 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,839 including 2,792 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,736 including 2,711 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,482 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,646 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,290,451 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,268 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 820 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,145,137 persons have completed surveillance period and 108,271 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,117,679 samples are available.

Out of 5,117,679 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,991,478 while as 126,201 have tested positive, among them 820 persons are active, 123,426 persons have recovered and 1,955 persons have died—(KNO)
