Srinagar, Feb 26: Covid-19 on Friday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,956 while 85 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,286.

Of the exact number of 126,286 cases, 74,328 are from Kashmir and 51,958 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 85 new cases, 69 belong to Kashmir division while as 16 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,328 including 72,478 recoveries and 1,231 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,958 including 51,049 recoveries and 725 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 803 including 619 from Kashmir division and 184 from Jammu division.

With 101 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 123,527 which is 97.82 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 47 from Srinagar, 08 from Baramulla, 01 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 01 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 16 from Jammu division include 12 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 02 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 26,947 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,142 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,245 including 175 deaths and 7,991 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,877 including 7,720 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,852 including 5,718 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,683 including 96 deaths and 5,575 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,008 including 4,885 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,716 cases including 4,636 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,668 including 4,606 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,727 including 2,658 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,605 including 2,547 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,206 including 24,734 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,302 including 4,186 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,818 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,437 including 3,372 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,259 including 3,203 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,839 including 2,792 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,711 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,489 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,646 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,298,407 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,061 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 803 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,153,117 persons have completed surveillance period and 108,470 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,147,460 samples are available.

Out of 5,147,460 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,021,274 while as 126,286 have tested positive, among them 803 persons are active, 123,527 persons have recovered and 1,956 persons have died—(KNO)
