Tally reaches 126,589; Active cases over 800 in J&K, recovery rate around 98 percent

Srinagar, Mar 02: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 85 fresh cases of Covid-19 taking the tally of cases in J&K to 126,589 while no death related to covid-19 was reported in the last 24 hours in the UT.
Of the exact number of 126,589 cases, 74,575 are from Kashmir and 52,014 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 85 new cases, 73 belong to Kashmir division while as 12 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,575 including 72,707 recoveries and 1,233 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,014 including 51,104 recoveries and 725 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 820 including 635 from Kashmir division and 185 from Jammu division.
With 94 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 123,811 which is 97.80 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 48 from Srinagar, 05 from Baramulla, 07 from Budgam, 06 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 12 from Jammu division include 10 from Jammu, 01 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 27,085 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,268 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,272 including 175 deaths and 8,016 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,892 including 7,738 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,869 including 5,738 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,689 including 97 deaths and 5,577 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,033 including 4,905 recoveries and 87 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,719 cases including 4,637 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,672 including 4,612 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,736 including 2,662 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,608 including 2,554 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 25,245 including 24,763 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,315 including 4,202 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,820 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,372 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,261 including 3,204 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,840 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,711 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,494 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,646 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,325,778 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,525 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 820 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,179,975 persons have completed surveillance period and 109,500 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,253,071 samples are available.
Out of 5,253,071 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,126,482 while as 126,589 have tested positive, among them 820 persons are active, 123,811 persons have recovered and 1,958 persons have died—(KNO)
