Srinagar, Mar 04: Covid-19 on Thursday claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir taking the toll of deaths related to Covid-19 to 1,959 while as 79 fresh positive cases were reported taking tally of positive cases to 126,772.

Of the exact number of 126,772 cases, 74,727 are from Kashmir and 52,045 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 79 new cases, 65 belong to Kashmir division while as 14 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 74,727 including 72,804 recoveries and 1,234 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 52,045 including 51,126 recoveries and 725 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 883 including 689 from Kashmir division and 194 from Jammu division.

With 70 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 123,930 which is 97.78 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 46 from Srinagar, 06 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 01 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu division include 12 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 27,185 positive cases including 461 deaths and 26,319 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,290 including 175 deaths and 8,037 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,902 including 7,746 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Budgam, 5,875 including 5,738 recoveries and 90 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,691 including 97 deaths and 5,581 recoveries are from Kupwara, 5,041 including 4,915 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,719 cases including 4,638 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,674 including 4,614 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,740 including 2,662 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,610 including 2,554 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,268 including 24,780 recoveries and 373 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,316 including 4,203 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,876 including 3,821 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,438 including 3,372 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,265 including 3,206 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,841 including 2,794 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,738 including 2,712 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,520 including 2,494 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,114 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,648 including 1,630 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,342,716 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,742 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 883 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,196,371 persons have completed surveillance period and 110,761 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,309,652 samples are available.

Out of 5,309,652 the number of samples tested negative stands at 5,182,880 while as 126,772 have tested positive, among them 883 persons are active, 123,930 persons have recovered and 1,959 persons have died—(KNO)
